Changing the task file storage space capacity

Any submitted file is saved in the file storage space if the file size does not exceed 1 GB and 1 percent of the maximum file storage space capacity.

PT Sandbox starts deleting the oldest files from the storage space if at least one of the following conditions is met:

  • 90% of the maximum task file storage space capacity specified in the PT Sandbox settings is used.
  • 1 GB of free space is left in the task file storage.
  • The storage space contains 95% of the maximum allowable number of task files.

You may need to increase the task file storage space capacity if, for example, a hard drive is added to the server with PT Sandbox installed. You may need to decrease the task file storage space capacity to free up disk space for other purposes.

When calculating how much space is available for the task file storage, PT Sandbox takes account of the capacity allocated to the operating system, for PT Sandbox operation, virtual machine images, and quarantine.

Do not change the task file storage space capacity often. While changes are applied, file checking may stop or files may be processed with delays. If you decrease the storage capacity, some files in the storage space may be lost.
To change the task file storage space capacity:On the System menu, click Settings. This opens the Settings tab of the System page.Under Task files, enter the capacity that must be reserved for task files.Click Save.It may take a while before the changes are applied.
