Checking objects via the API

PT MultiScanner can receive files to be checked from third-party applications via the public API.

You can get an API access token in two ways:

Generate it using the command line. For detailed instructions on how to generate an API key, see the Developer help.
Create an access token via the PT MultiScanner interface. For detailed instructions on how to manage access tokens, go to this section.

The created access token must be used in all API requests and when adding an "API with custom check settings" type of source.

To add the API with custom check settings as a source:On the main menu, click Sources.The Sources page will open.Click Add source.The New source page opens.In the Name box, enter the name of the source.In the Type drop-down list, select API with custom check settings.In the Access token drop-down list, select an existing access token or create a new one by clicking Create access token.

You can link only a single access token to one source.

Click Add source.The source is now added.
